Written words can inspire compassion and human connection

Words can inspire and influence. The words you write or speak to others can leave a huge impact and create a lasting memory, they live on indefinitely. A string of words may not mean much to you, may stick with someone else for a lifetime. Words may change someone’s state of mind from that of despair to joy. “The tongue has no bones, but is strong enough to break/make a heart. Choose them wisely.

I love writing and it is therapeutic. When you write and encourage even one life next to you, you also get encouraged in the process. Happy to be part of the Goodwill tribe as a volunteer. I get to write letters to unknown people, unsung heroes…who are doing such amazing work. The pandemic has been so difficult for all of us. Its so hard to even imagine the plight of frontline workers. If I can wield my pen to make their day better or lift their spirits higher in these tough times, it is worth it.

Through the power of written words, I want them to know they are not alone, someone somewhere is thinking about them. This is the least I can do.

All we need right now is a little more humanity.
